How we can help you find a home

If you are chronically homeless in Hamilton or Tauranga, The People’s Project can help you.

We focus on helping you find a home first and then connecting you with any support services you may need.

For support in Hamilton, call into our office at 871 Victoria Street or call us on 0800 437 348 to make an appointment. We have limited room at this location, please call first if you can.

For support in Tauranga, call into our office at 63 Second Avenue in the city centre, or call us on 0800 437 348 to make an appointment. We are open Monday – Friday.

You can find a map to our offices on the contact us page.

We’ve helped many people take the first step in finding a home that’s right for them – including finding you somewhere safe to sleep tonight. We’ll then work with you to help you find a home.

Nowhere to go tonight?

Please call us on 0800 437 348 for a list of local services that may be able to help.

If you need to leave your home because of domestic violence, please call Women’s Refuge on 0800 733 843 (from anywhere in New Zealand).

If you are in a life-threatening emergency situation, call 111 for emergency services.

“I saw your sign and realised I had no place to go. I was homeless. That’s when I came in and you helped me.”

Our offices will be closed on Wednesday December 25, Thursday December 26, Wednesday January 1 and Thursday January 2.

There will be reduced services in our offices from December 16. We will be back fully staffed from January 6.
